The playing surface

The soft 10mm foam was cut to fit the base plate, leaving about 2 cm room to the rim for stapling. The cloth is planned not to be wrapped around the plate, the gap between plate and lower rail is too narrow for that (I could have widened it with my belt sander, but remember the dust problem..?)

The surface, which is a non flexible, strong 100%cotton green cloth, was firmly tightened and stapled to the plate.. The holes, where the screws (the ones to hold on to the T-Nuts are going through, were supported with duct tape (so it doesnt rip under tension).

NO glue was needed here, the cloth showed no tendency to slip on the foam.
